Terms & Conditions

Using Chatham County Recent Arrests means accepting these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. These conditions govern access to the site, its reference content, and links to outside tools.

Chatham County Recent Arrests is privately owned and has no government, sheriff, jail, court, or corrections affiliation. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers FCRA-covered credit, employment, insurance, or tenant-screening services. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

Nature of the Service

This private reference service points toward Chatham County and North Carolina arrest, custody, court, and corrections resources and may connect visitors with outside research tools. It stores no official record, cannot confirm custody, cannot secure release, and cannot file or change a government document.

Acceptable Use Rules

Access is permitted only for lawful, non-abusive use. By using the service, you agree that you will not:

  • violate a law or another person’s rights;
  • stalk, harass, threaten, deceive, or harm anyone;
  • use information for hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another regulated decision;
  • seek unauthorized access to an account, server, or data;
  • run bots, scrapers, or automated collection tools without written permission; or
  • disrupt the service or interfere with another visitor’s access.

No Consumer Reports

Chatham County Recent Arrests is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It supplies no background check, credit report, or consumer report, and neither the site nor its ad partners provides a screening service. You agree not to use site or linked information for:

  • hiring, firing, promotion, or another employment decision;
  • tenant selection or any housing decision;
  • creditworthiness, lending, or insurance pricing;
  • licenses, permits, or government-benefit eligibility; or
  • any purpose governed by the FCRA or similar law.

Outside Links and Services

Links may lead to sheriff and jail pages, booking feeds, corrections agencies, government portals, legal resources, and commercial search services. Their inclusion is not an endorsement. Chatham County Recent Arrests does not control outside content, uptime, prices, search coverage, security, or data handling. Review each provider’s terms before use.

Service Provided As Is

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” No warranty is made that information is accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or sufficient for a visitor’s purpose. Partner searches may omit records. Custody and public-record data can change at any time, and nothing here is an official statement from the Chatham County Sheriff or another agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the site, its owners, and contributors are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from access, inability to access, reliance on content, or use of an outside service.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend and hold harmless the site, its owners, and service partners from claims, losses, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of another person’s rights.

Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise identified, site text, graphics, logos, layout, and code belong to Chatham County Recent Arrests or its content partners. They may not be copied, republished, distributed, or modified without written permission. Rights in linked government or third-party material remain with their owners.

Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A new version becomes effective when posted. Continued use after posting means acceptance of the revised terms.

Access May Be Revoked

Access may be limited, suspended, or ended at any time and without notice, including when use threatens security, violates these terms, or disrupts service for others.

North Carolina Law

These terms are governed by North Carolina law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction in North Carolina.

Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in effect. The affected provision will be adjusted only as far as needed to make it valid and enforceable.
