Information That May Be Collected
A contact message may include the name, email address, and text a visitor chooses to provide. Servers and analytics tools may automatically receive an IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and approximate time of access. Search terms entered in a third-party search box pass to that provider under its own policy. Chatham County Recent Arrests does not receive or store an official Chatham County booking file merely because a visitor searches for one.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to operate and secure the site, answer messages, diagnose errors, measure page use, improve navigation, prevent abuse, and meet legal duties. It may also support advertising and partner-search functions. Personal data is not used to decide custody status or change any Chatham County record.
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies and comparable storage may remember preferences, support analytics, limit fraud, and help advertising or search partners measure activity. Browser settings can block or delete cookies, though some site or partner functions may then work differently.
Links and Search Providers
Links may lead to the Chatham County Sheriff, North Carolina courts, NCDAC, VINELink, news sites, or commercial tools. Those destinations control their own collection, prices, cookies, and retention. Review their privacy terms before sending names, contact details, or payment information.
When Data May Be Shared
Information may be provided to hosting vendors, analytics services, advertising networks, and search partners that help deliver the site. It may also be disclosed to law enforcement or another authority when a valid legal order requires it, or when necessary to protect rights, safety, or service integrity. Data is not promised to remain in one jurisdiction when an outside provider processes it.
Security and Retention
Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website, email, or transmission method is perfectly secure. Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed for operations, legal compliance, dispute handling, and security. Avoid sending sensitive documents through a general contact message.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under eighteen. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal information may use the Get in Touch page to request review.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law, a visitor may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information provided directly to the site, or object to some processing. Browser controls can manage cookies. Requests should go through the Get in Touch page; identity verification may be required. Requests about an official arrest record must go to its government custodian under North Carolina public-records law, including Chapter 132 where applicable.
Changes to This Notice
This notice may change as services or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when posted. Continued use after that point is subject to the updated notice.
